Why Use Our ProducT

From Frustration
to First Contact

We stripped away the noise and kept what works. Ground communication should be straightforward, dependable, and ready when you need it most.

Problem

Overcoming Throughput & Precision Issues

As missions mature, the "bottleneck" shifts. It’s no longer just about talking to the satellite (S-Band); it’s about the massive amount of data coming back (X-Band). We address the two biggest technical hurdles: bandwidth limits and the extreme difficulty of tracking narrow X-Band beams.

Solution

Integrated Dual-Band Engineering

Instead of forcing you to synchronize two different antennas or complex third-party modems, we’ve built the S and X feeds into one "Plug & Play" unit. The addition of Monopulse Tracking is the "secret sauce"—it uses the signal itself to steer the dish, ensuring you never lose a drop of data.

Operational Mastery

The ultimate goal is peace of mind. By using a vertically integrated Groundcom station, you get a single interface (API/GUI) that handles everything from basic commands to heavy payload downloads. You save months of engineering time and get a professional-grade gateway that "just works."

Deployment Spotlight

Arctic CubeSat Operations Centre

A European university consortium operating a constellation of 4 CubeSats needed high-elevation polar coverage to maximise daily contact windows. Groundcom deployed a dual-station VHF/UHF installation at 78°N — one of the northernmost operational ground stations in the world.

The stations track all four spacecraft autonomously, logging telemetry and executing uplink commands without operator intervention during off-hours. Average daily contact time per satellite increased from 8 to 31 minutes.

FAQ

Frequent questions

How fast can the Mobile Ground Station be deployed?

Once the container arrives on-site, the hardware can be fully operational in less than 24 hours. We aim to have units shipped and deployed anywhere in the world within one month of order, depending on stock.

Does Groundcom handle the licensing for the mobile site?

The frequency and landing licenses are typically the customer's responsibility, as they vary by country and mission. However, we provide all the technical documentation needed to streamline your application process.

Can it be used for both S-Band and X-Band?

Yes. You can configure the mobile unit with our standard S-Band (TT&C) or our high-speed Dual S/X-Band feed to handle both commands and heavy payload downlinks (up to 300+ Mbps).

What are the "Mobile Operation Center" options?

We can outfit the container with a climate-controlled workstation, including desks, monitors, and high-performance computing engines. This allows you to run your own satellite-specific software and store data locally.

Can we rent the station instead of buying it?

Absolutely. For temporary demonstrations or short-term missions, we offer leasing options. This allows you to utilize professional Groundcom hardware without a full capital purchase, returning it once your mission is complete.

Why This Is Right for You

If You've Made It This Far, the Answer Is Yes

You're operating or planning a CubeSat or small satellite mission and you need ground infrastructure that won't become a multi-month project. The Groundcom VHF/UHF line was designed for exactly this profile.

The "Pop-Up" Network Solution

Perfect for operators needing temporary capacity. Bridge a coverage gap or fulfill a specific contract by placing an autonomous station exactly where you need it, then move it when the mission is over.

A Complete Mobile Operations Center

Go beyond just an antenna. Opt for the internal workstation configuration with computing engines and storage, allowing your team to process satellite data and run mission-control software directly on-site.

Accelerated Market Entry

Don't wait for permanent permits and builds. We can ship from stock or manufacture for deployment globally within a month, giving you a massive competitive advantage in rapid market expansion.

Flexible "Buy or Lease" Models

Whether you need a permanent mobile asset for your fleet or a short-term rental for a three-month demonstration, our flexible business models adapt to your project’s specific budget and timeline.

Autonomous Remote Control

Once deployed, the mobile station functions exactly like our fixed network. Access it via the cloud or connect it to your existing Mission Control Software for seamless, remote-controlled satellite operations.

Harsh-Environment Ready

The ruggedized container housing is designed for the world’s toughest spots. From desert heat to Arctic winds, your mobile gateway provides the same sub-degree tracking precision as our fixed installations.

Not Sure Yet? Let's Talk.

Our engineers are happy to review your mission profile, link budget, and site constraints — and give you an honest recommendation, even if it's not our product. No obligation, no sales pressure.
